October 4, 2011 - MVP

New Response Time Record(s)!!!!

Don Mattingly (1B) - October 1, 2011 - Response time: 305 days

Teams (Player): Yankees
Teams (Manager): Dodgers

Mr. Mattingly was arguably the premier player in Major League Baseball in the mid to late 1980's. Among his many accomplishments were selection to six consecutive All-Star games (1984-1989), winner of nine Gold Glove awards (1985-1989, 1991-1994), three consecutive Silver Slugger awards (1985-1987) and selection as the 1985 American League MVP. His #23 has been retired by the Yankees. He is currently the manager of the much abused (though through no fault of his) Los Angeles Dodgers. I thank him for signing and his response time of 305 days sets a new record!

Randy St. Claire (P) - October 3, 2011 - Response time: 340 days

Teams: Expos, Reds, Twins, Braves, Blue Jays

After taking 305 days to respond, the tenure of Mr. Mattingly as my longest response time lasted exactly two days. Mr. St. Claire came along and shattered that with a 340 day effort. Mr. St. Claire was the 43rd card I sent out back on October 28, 2010. All that having been said Mr. St. Claire had a 10 year career and won the pennant twice with the Braves in 1991 and 1992. He is currently the pitching coach of the Florida Marlins. I thank him very much for signing.
