I would like to stop and take a moment to congratulate Evan on his Macho Mustache Man-cation Mini-Golf victory and offer my consolation to Ravi for his upcoming facial fuzz.  Speaking of my friend Ravi though, this next card looks just like he will look in about a month.

Jose Lind (2B) - May 28, 2011 - Response time: 88 days

Teams: Pirates, Royals, Angels

Mr. Lind was a defensive stalwart for the Pirates in the late 80's and early 90's. He won a gold glove but also suffered from a number of off-the-field problems. I thank him very much for signing.


Doug DeCinces (3B) - May 28, 2011 - Response time: 10 days

Teams: Orioles, Angels, Cardinals, Yakult Swallows (Japan)

Mr. DeCinces began his career as the Baltimore Orioles successor to Brooks Robinson at third base.  Eventually he was traded to the Angels to make room for Cal Ripken Jr., which makes him adjacent to the careers to two hall-of-famers. He is also a member of the Baltimore Orioles Hall-of-Fame. He was an all-star in 1983 and won a Silver Slugger in 1982.  I thank him very much for signing.


Tim Burke (P) - May 28, 2011 - Response time: 11 days

Teams: Expos, Mets, Yankees

Mr. Burke is only the second Montreal Expo (Washington National) I have received. He was an All-Star in 1989 and led the National League in games pitched in 1985. He eventually retired because he felt he could be a better father to his children if he wasn't playing baseball. He wrote a book about it in 1994. I would like to thank him very much for signing.
