April 28, 2011 - MVP - HOF - 125 Cards!

I got my third member of the Professional Baseball Hall-of-Fame last night!

Jim Rice (OF) - April 27, 2011 - Response time: 177 days

Teams: Red Sox

This card is one of a strange few in the set that are "Turn Back the Clock" cards.  Mr. Rice wasn't playing in 1988 but I figured that, in light of my efforts to be comprehensive, I should send it out anyway.  Mr. Rice played for the Red Sox his entire career.  He was an eight time All-Star, two time Silver Slugger and winner of the 1978 AL MVP award.   He was inducted into the Hall-of-Fame on July 26, 2009 and his number was retired by the Red Sox two days later.  I thank him very much for signing and I would like to say hello to Caitlin and Mr. and Mrs. M, Brianna and Mr. and Mrs. C.

Tom Brookens (3B/SS) - April 27, 2011 - Response time: 169 days

Teams: Tigers, Yankees, Indians

Mr. Brookens won the World Series in 1984 with the Tigers.  After several years managing in the minors, he is now the Tigers first base coach and speculation has it that he is being groomed to take over as their Manager when Jim Leyland retires.  I thank him very much for signing and would like to give a shout out to Jess, my favorite Tigers fan. :-)
