March 23, 2011

So I haven't ever had anything negative to say about a ballplayer, but that changes today.  Someone is now on my shit list.  I'm talking about you Chili Davis.  Screw you!  You sent me my card back without signing it.  No note saying you want money, at least that I could understand.  No return-to-sender "refused" because you didn't want to deal with it.  I could have accepted that too (at least I get the return envelope and it's stamp back to use for someone else).  But no.  You took out the card, opened the return envelope, put the card in the return envelope, WITHOUT SIGNING IT, and sent it back.  Screw you!

There were, however, some other players that were cool enough to actually sign their cards.

Will Clark (1B) - March 21, 2011 - Response time: 111 days

Teams: Giants, Rangers, Orioles, Cardinals

Will Clark is awesome.  I was a big fan of his when I was a kid and this is one of the coolest cards I've received.  Six time All-star, gold glove winner, Silver Slugger winner and a career batting averge over .300  Thank you very much for signing Mr. Clark.

Bob Kipper (P) - March 21, 2011 - Response time: 119 days

Teams: Angels, Pirates, Twins

I'm sick today and so not really feeling up to writing a lot, but I would like to thank Mr. Kipper very much for signing.

Tony Pena (C) - March 21, 2011 - Response time: 42 days

Teams (Player): Pirates, Cardinals, Red Sox, Indians, White Sox, Astros
Teams (Manager): Royals

Mr. Pena was a quality ballplayer in his heyday.  He was a five time All Star and a four time Gold Glove winner.  He was also the manager of the year in 2003 with the Royals.  I thank him very much for signing.  I would also like to say hi to Glenn and Luke, my favorite Cardinals fans.
